Amsterdam NY Restaurant and Food Reviews

What’s next

I’m always looking for ideas for another review. Please tell me about your favorite Amsterdam area restaurant and why you like it.

In the pipeline:

Nicolino’s is really the best place in town (at least that I’ve visited). I’ll be reporting on my latest visit soon.

Crystal Ristorante. I had a decent lunch but I want to have another meal there before I report. [Update: during my last visit the bar smelled like dirty bathroom. I left without ordering anything. I may or may not try the dining room.]

The future:

I owe Michael’s another visit and plan to have dinner there in the next few months. I hope that my previous disappointing visit was a fluke, maybe they can still put out decent food.

    Hi,

I have read your reviews on the site and have to agree with most of what you state, especially about Raindancer. They are living on their reputation from 20 years ago. My last 2 meals there were below average.

I would like to invite you to my father’s and my restaurant, Pasqualli’s Steakhouse. We have been in business for the last 4 years in downtown Amsterdam. The first 3 1/2 years we were concentrating on our banquet business and had an Italian American slant on things. We did a full re-organization and a look at our menu, and realized that our biggest sellers and strengths were pretty much a steak, prime rib and seafood menu, so we remodeled the dining room and switched to a Steakhouse menu.

I would love to have you stop in and check us out. I would recommend a Friday or Saturday night to try our famous slow roasted prime rib. No one in the area can touch it. It’s been compared to being as good or better than Top Notch’s prime rib.

We are located at 10 Market Street in Downtown Amsterdam, in the Americas Best Value Inn (used to be the Best Western and Holiday Inn) Amsterdam. The restaurant is locally owned and independent from the hotel, and would like to see what your thoughts were on our little restaurant. We have a 3 course menu, with dinners ranging from $9 to the $30 range as well as ‘Dinners for Two’ as well.

    Thanks for your time.

    George
